Holdings and specialist collections:
This facility contains the library of the art history department and the art history holdings of the University Library. With more than120,000 volumes and some 200 subscribed periodicals, the Arts Library is currently divided between two locations.
The library houses a wide-range of publications on European art, specializing in Italian Renaissance and Modernism. Other specialist areas include new media, photography, satirical art and the illustrated press. The jewel of the Kunstbibliothek is undoubtedly its fine collection of artists’ books by international artists such as Jim Dine, Francesco Clemente and David Hockney, including unique painters’ books, material art works, objects and artists’ presses.
