The reference library, which is open to the public and free of charge, is directly adjacent to the exhibition space of the DZ BANK Art Foundation. It contains more than 4,000 media units and numerous international journals. In addition to an extensive selection of monographic publications, exhibition and collection catalogs as well as a section on the history and theory of photography can be consulted. Also available are standard works on philosophy, media theory and art history. Since the focus of the DZ BANK Art Foundation is on photographic forms of expression from 1945 to the present, an extensive stock of specialist literature on the subject of the collection has been compiled. Workstations, copying facilities and Internet access are available on site.
